Down for Doom and Halo on the big screen? |
Historically I’ve not been a fan of video games to movie translations but after seeing the trailer for Doom, to be released on Oct 21, my curiosity is piqued. The Rock impressed me with his role in his role updating Bufford Pusser in Walking Tall and I’m looking forward to see how he does as Sarge. Some chainsaw alien carnage, why not?
This coming Oct 14 weekend, it’s time for the remake of James Herbert’s The Fog. I liked the book but didn’t care much for the original film.
As for Halo due out in mid-2007 on the big screen? Not nearly as excited about that one, but maybe as it gets closer and I see/learn more about it I’ll be interested. This stuff article made me chuckle:
In a stroke of irony, Microsoft’s Halo movie will be produced in Wellington by servers running the open-source Linux operating system.
How about you? Looking forward to either of these video game to movie films? Doom has a deeper, and better, backstory than Halo. Which one, or neither, do you plan to see? Or will you wait for the DVD and Netflix it, maybe?
Did this post make you go hmm?
