[...] Unfortunately that odd comment (difficult, I know) sets the tone for most of the interview, including the part where Gabe said he was waiting for the Techmeme.com domain to become available. Back when I suggested alternate domain names for tech.memeorandum.com (October 2005) he didn’t seem to have a name in mind yet, instead saying: But given the costs of changing a name, I may need to wait for something incredibly apt and memorable to come along. I’m setting the bar rather high. [...]

In a way your tool is a little bit like an artificial Geraldo. Could you imagine a logo with his signature mustache? Exploring the Al Capone vaults, and plunging into the depths of OJ's psyche, it's riverabot!

Hah, thanks, you've made me go "hmmm...". If I called it "Riverabot", would Fox News, home of Geraldo, link me?

The funny thing about that mispelling: I've done it too, on my original "about" page.

Anyway, I'll watch what happens here and check my email. But given the costs of changing a name, I may need to wait for something incredibly apt and memorable to come along. I'm setting the bar rather high.

Of course for any NEW sections, verticles I might launch, I'll much more readily use a new name...
