New Slingbox ad on Jim Rome show + new software version |

One of my favorite talk radio show hosts is Jim Rome. Jim leads the pack for sports talk radio, IMO. It’s not easy work doing three hours of radio five days a week and Jim makes it fun to listen to and has an engaging group of listeners he refers to as clones. Rome admits that you have to listen to the show a few times to understand his tone which seems less than complimentary to some atheletes (and sometimes non-atheletes) in his signature takes/smack. Well, I was just listening to today’s show and heard him start talking about the Slingbox!
You can listen to Jim Rome weekdays on Fox Sports Radio. That’s 850 for readers in the greater Seattle area.
After hearing Jim speak candidly about Sling Media I fired off an email to Sling Media to let them know how cool it was that they were advertising on his show. Advertisers don’t always hear back about their products/services, so it’s nice to let them know if they are in a market that makes sense. Jim Rome’s audience of clones will get the Slingbox, they love watching sports.
I found it interesting in Romey’s Slingbox ad that he mentioned the Sling Media’s company founder brothers thought of the idea while trying to run down watching sports through their PCs. How fitting!
You have probably noticed that I’m a big fan of the Slingbox, and have been telling people about how cool it is being able to control your TV from any broadband internet connection. Need to PVR a season pass for some show you are talking to friends about? No need to email yourself, just fire up the Slingbox and set the season pass yourself! We keep the Slingbox running CNN in the office most of the time. I can catch Wolf Blitzer in The Situation Room coming on after Jim Rome’s show.
Speaking of the Slingbox, there is a new version of the software available today: v1.0.4.107. Go getcha ’self some!
Did this post make you go hmm?
