Forbes richest 400 Americans 50% of top ten Wal-Mart heirs

finance — by TDavid @ 9:22 am PST

Forbes has published its richest 400 Americans list..

Bill Gates rounds out the top of the list at $51 billion, followed by Warren Buffet at 40 billion and Paul Allen at $22 billion. Two more techies round out the top five: Michael Dell ($18 billion) and Larry Ellison from Oracle ($17 billion).

Now check out the rest of the top five with roughly $15-$16 billion each: all Wal-Mart fortune heirs. Wal-Mart … a company focusing on mammoth stores with always low prices (”always”) generating not one or two, but five billionaires! Yowsa, add them together and they have over $75 billion. The oldest, Helen Walton, age 86 statistically could be the first of the Walton clan to be leaving her billions to what .. another heir? Charity? Uncle Sam will get a chunk of that, I’m sure. Hopefully Helen lives well past 100. Go girl!

Steve Balmer dosn’t have to worry about buying plenty of new chairs to throw (allegedly) with his 14 billion at position #11.

Wondering about those Google guys. Larry Page and Sergey Brin? Gary Price notes that they are at the 16th position with $11 billion each.

Oh, and Google’s Eric Schmidt, the recipient (allegedly) of Balmer’s chair antics won’t be complaining with his estimated $4 billion (#52 on the list).

Dallas Mavericks, IceRocket, etc owner, Mark Cuban is still a billionaire at $1.8 billion (#164). Cuban is one of the (only?) richest blogger on the list that I saw. Another claim to fame.

  1. How to Be a Billionaire Blogger

TDavid points out that according to the Forbes list of the 400 richest Americans that Mark Cuban is the only billionaire blogger. Perhaps Mark can start a teleseminar series to teach others how to ‘Earn Billions Blogging’ :-)…
