GameBoy Micro arrives Sept 19 |
Here’s a system I would give about a 10% chance our household will be buying any time soon: the GameBoy Micro:
The Game Boy Micro shrinks the components of a Game Boy Advance into a miniscule system that’s only four inches wide, two inches long, and not even an inch thick. Its 2 inch screen is backlit for incredible clarity. Unlike the GBA SP, the Game Boy Micro will only play GBA-specific titles
Might buy one for the collector’s value, but not interest in a gaming system with a tiny screen. Hard big enough with the GameBoy Advance screensize. I can see where this might appeal to the smaller is better crowd in terms of style … but playability? Dunno. Especially hard for those with eyesight that sucks (like me).
Remember the Virtual Boy [google search]? That bizarre red gaming thing that was a dog in more ways than one? Didn’t buy one of those either, thankfully. Played a demo of it a store though. Will probably do the same with the Micro.
PC World: “The GameBoy Micro is priced at $109 in Japan, and its launch was timed to coincide with the 20th anniversary of Nintendo’s Mario Bros. game.”
The GameBoy Micro will sell for $99 USD. In stores September 19.
