Five months late, Sony US releases web browser |
Ok, well that’s my opinion that the Sony PSP should have included a web browser to begin with, but from a PR perspective maybe it’s given them more mileage taking their time. The Japanese firmware upgrade was release weeks ago.
Alas, owners of PSP-1000 k systems can get the new US Sony PSP firmware here. Other goodies include support for TIFF, GIF, PNG and BMP file formats, 4:3 screen mode support, MP4 (AVC) audio support and more.
Those who have been using homebrew games though might not want to get this upgrade, as it will wipe out this hack/mod functionality (Sony apparently doesn’t care). I wonder how many folks who bought an early PSP and have never upgraded the firmware (like me) will be out buying a new PSP?
Those who don’t want to upgrade but want web browsing, can still use the Wipeout Pure not-so-secret browser.
Did this post make you go hmm?
