Nintendo DS price reduction to $129.99 |
Dropping the price of the Gamecube helped to boost sales, I wonder if the same will happen for the Nintendo DS? Planet Gamecube is reporting the DS price reduction:
Nintendo is announcing new pricing for the Nintendo DS™ of $129.99 MSRP, effective Aug. 21, in advance of the arrival of a critically acclaimed title for the dual-screened, hand-held video game system.
That title is Nintendogs which I talked about a couple months ago. I will always like Mario, but I still am wondering if it’s not getting past time that Nintendo should just say Uncle like Sega did and make games for Sony and Microsoft’s system?
I like the competition of the three, but it seems like first party titles continue to be the mainstay in Nintendo land and history has shown what can happen (3D0) when there isn’t enough third party gaming support.
Sadly, we don’t get very much play out of the two Nintendo DS we bought at launch and haven’t bought a new game for the system since the launch. The PSP, however, has been getting even more action lately including me taking it with us to our daily workouts. The PSP is a great little system for video and audio, I only wish it had come with a bigger card than 32MB. That’s not enough for podcasts and music. A 512MB or 1GB card is on the list.
Did this post make you go hmm?
