Man sells everything he owns, including sports car, to highest bidder |

Wow, the second eBay story in as many days. Some guy is selling literarlly everything he owns, including a sports car that he’s put $3,000 of customization into. As of this writing the reserve is met and bidding is up to $9,100. His reasons for doing this seem pretty noble:
Why am I doing this?
1. To help out my nephew and a very good charity
2. I’ve just reached a point in my life where I’m realizing material items don’t matter, and I want to live simpler.
He has borrowed one pair of clothes from a friend and plans to buy a new clothes and car when this is over, otherwise he is starting fresh.
Did this post make you go hmm?

This is not the first time this has happened. John Freyer did it a few years ago. I think he did it for his thesis. He didn’t sell everything to one bidder. He sold items to bidders all over the world and then he visited his possessions in their homes. He took pictures and made a book. I think he might still be traveling to visit his items. http://www.allmylifeforsale.com/html/project/BookStuff.html

[…] Although I like the concept and definitely will be signing up when it becomes available, I have to wonder what the cut will be on this one since some auctions are for very small amounts of money? Perhaps eBay will only show ads for items that have risen above a certain price? Like the screenshot of the auction shown above of the guy who auctioned off everything he owned? […]
