"I don’t believe for even a millisecond that they would intentionally and maliciously program something to make Google or Yahoo’s toolbars not work. The fact that they have people working with engineers with competing companies should be evidence enough that this is a totally absurd and unwarranted allegation."

No, they'd *never* do something like that:

The Register's reporting here is totally false. Microsoft's official response is here: http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/2005/07/29/444957.aspx

Well put. I think Scoble gets beat up too much over knee-jerk reactions like this one. There are so many Microsoft trolls waiting to pounce. I use both MS and Apple products and have commented on Scoble's blog often about the failings of his employer, but at the end of the day, Scoble is a good guy who is passionate about his job.

Blame Google for the "beta is release quality" software? No, I think that honor belongs to ICQ. I think that's STILL in beta. heh heh

Both sides are taking an extremist POV. Robert says all toolbars work fine, Andrew says some don't work and may not in the future. Fear! Uncertainty! Doubt!

Ultimately, both sides need to STFU. Good job pointing out the obvious here TDavid. It's supposed to have issues, that's how the issues get fixed.
