Deaths: Beam me up Scotty and TV Dinner creator |
The wizard of the Starship Enterprise, Scotty (James Doohan) has died at age 85. Doohan died of pnuemonia at his home early this morning. His remains will be shot into space, per his wishes. Scotty was one of my favorite Trek characters.
Also Gerry Thomas, creator of the TV Dinner died at age 83. Thomas got the idea when confronted with what to do with the post Thanksgiving turkey surplus. The first TV Dinner was eaten in 1954. Cancer took Mr. Thomas from this earth.
Tribute ideas: TiVO a Star Trek episode tonight that’s bound to be on some channel somewhere or buy one of the seasons on DVD, or perhaps eat a TV dinner.
