v4: Bowling fans |

Bowling has been a big part of this vacation. We bought each of the kids their own ball, bag, towel (can’t forget the towel!). We even went bowling with their grandfather.
One thing I’ve noticed technology-wise about the alleys is how the computerized displays have gotten much more like video games and really compliment the bowling experience. Long gone are the days having to keep score yourselves under a blinding light and watching the balls roll along the alleys. The displays also show the correct way to pick up the various spare combinations. Bowling is clearly one sport that has benefitted from technology advances. Wonder what is powering all these displays? Windows?

Now the kids are talking about getting into a league this fall. My wife and I used to bowl in two leagues a week, but the last few years we haven’t really had the time for them. When the weather is over 110 outside, inside sports like Bowling (a la air conditioning) are welcomed.
This is post #14 in the vacation 2005 series.
