First Balmer, now Gates thinks they can whip Google’s relevancy |
Gates is in Bangkok with no shortage of gauntlet throwing. Like Balmer last week believing they had the silver bullet for beating Google’s search relevancy Gates told his audience:
“I think we’ll surprise them by showing how we can do a search that’s as good or better than they do. Consumers benefit from that type of competition.”
I agree that consumers benefit from competition and there is a remote possibility they could be successful (very remote), but let’s quit with the willy wagging, Microsoft, and just show us something.
Did this post make you go hmm?

With Google working on expanding their (not so evil) empire in to every other realm (pictures, mobile, etc.), they do not really seem to be doing much with their core algorhithmic search. It just may be possible that Yahoo! and/or MSN can catch up in the next 6-12 months. Keep in mind that Google did have a hefty head-start.
