I've found that if you use the latest version of VZAccess Manager 5.7.7 the card will not be recognized so use the version that has been posted above 5.3.0:

I have a Motion LE1600 with a KPC650 air card. I also had major issues getting the card to work but I finally realized that it was a COM port conflict. I had to delete the COM port that the card wanted to use and specify one that was clearly not being used.

Dell states that the Verizon cards are conflicting with the D420 chipset on the motherboard & possibly the Richo driver as well. The only fix is to swap motherboards on the D420. Dell says they are working on a fix and should have something by the end of November.
I heard however the low end Verizon card should work on the D420, I believe the verizon card is
the V620. However, Verizon told me those cards are crap and I shouldn't go with that card...haha

Later, hope this help you all.

We have also recently purchased Dell 420's and already have the Verizon Braodband cards. Same thing happens to us. If anyone has heard of a fix, please post.

I have a Dell Latitude D420 that freezes everytime I try to install this card. Verizon pointed the finger at Dell, Dell doesn't know and I have yet to call Kyocera. I'm begining to think this card is a POS.

Try this.....I pulled my hair out till I found this and it worked. I was using a version of VZAccess manager that was too new for the Kyocera card. Scroll to the VZAccess Manager for Kyocera KPC650 download.
