M1400 tablet pc used as podcasting equipment |

The MixCastLive blog talks about equipment used to podcast at Gnomedex this weekend: a Motion M1400 Tablet PC, their own MixCast Live software ($29 USD, beta, no demo download available as of this writing):
I added a the Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Notebook to the m1400 since it’s internal soundcard is pretty weak. The soundblaster worked well. The audio quality was pretty good. When the tablet was plugged in, there was a bit of hum, but I tried to remember to unplug and run on battery while recording. Also during testing before the show the card did give some static during playback when it got warm.
I’ve seen that SoundBlaster notebook card before and was curious how good it was. Sounds like a decent endorsement above. The heating I find curious because I’ve noticed the M1400 gets hot sometimes.
This morning when I tried to demo CastBlaster on the M1400, I had to do a registry tweak to get the microphone registered and never could get the microphone sound to come through the headphone jack (yes, it was unmuted). Looks like this card might be one solution to get around this issue.

So, you were in town after all?

Yup, too late to get tickets, manno! Next year
I had full schedule Friday and wouldn’t have been able to come. Could have come up yesterday though
I heard you had a full crowd and it went over very well. Great work! I sent along a few $$ for the stream 10-4.
