$599 eMachines Windows Media Center PC 2005 |
Gateway has released a $599 Windows Media Center 2005: the eMachines T6520. Here’s the specs via betanews:
The T6520 includes an AMD Athlon 64 3400+ processor with 1 GB of DDR SDRAM, and a 200GB hard drive. The system utilizes the new ATI Radeon Xpress 200 platform…8-in-1 media reader, and both a rewritable dual-layer DVD drive and CD-ROM drive.
If this isn’t junk hardware, then this could be a good deal. My son has an eMachine. We had to replace the hard drive within the first month but after that it has done pretty well. My last experience with a Windows Media Center PC was in December 2004. We ultimately paid the restocking fee (which was almost half the price of the T6520) and took MCE2005 back. Too spendy. My sister has a Media Center and it wasn’t even hooked up to a TV.
Did this post make you go hmm?
