Star Wars TV show staging for 100 episodes |
I was a bit skeptical at first, but now I’m looking forward to this upcoming Star Wars TV show, PVRing it when it’s live and buying the inevitable TV-to-DVD editions.
Yeah, it might turn out to suck, but I am legitimately interested in learning why it took 20 years to build the Death Star, how Han Solo and Chewbacca ended up as smugglers and shipmates and more. I’m wondering a bit about the number of episodes though as it seems to be taking a long time to tell the various stories (100 hours?). TV is good at dragging things out though. 24 spends a whole season on one day, so why not 100 episodes for 20 years?
Apparently the story will take place in a 20 year span between Episode 3 and Episode 4. McCallum said it will depict how characters end up being together…
The Cinematical story also indicates that 3D versions of all six Star Wars movies should be at theaters within a couple years. Star Wars would be killer in IMAX 3D. Something tells me that us SW fans are in for five years or so of Star Wars 1-6 frenzy leading up to the next three chapters. I really don’t think Star Wars will end, even after George Lucas dies. Just like Star Trek lived past Roddenberry.
