I’ve been waiting for the original Dragnet to come out on DVD. Have bought a couple of straggler episodes previously (bargain bin value pack stuff, can you believe it?), but this is the full first season from 1967, including a bonus CD featuring an episode from the original radio drama. The price? $28 USD. I saw the Aviator selling for $19.99. These seasons on DVD are a much better deal than single movies. Will wait for the Aviator on Netflix.

If I could go back in time to a cool TV era I think it would be the 1960’s. Twilight Zone, Dragnet, Outer Limits … they had some really cool, story-driven shows back then. I’m hoping that someday we can get back to that era of TV storytelling again and away from the vast majority of reality TV crap. Ok, some reality TV is ok, but most of it blows.

Friday is a fitting day for some serious Joe Friday police drama, isn’t it? Dom-da-da-dom, dommmmm.
