Seattle is the most WiFi enabled city |
Finally, something besides the ever cliched rain to hang our hat on here in the Seattle area. BL Ochman blogs:
Intel’s third annual “Most Unwired Cities” survey cites Seattle as the US city with the most wireless hotspots. New York City is a distant 21st.
The fine print in the Intel survey reveals this was based on:
… the number of commercial and public or “free” wireless Internet access points (hotspots), airports with wireless Internet access, and broadband availability. The survey also included community wireless Internet access points, local wireless networks and wireless e-mail devices.
So please tell me, Verizon Wireless, when will EV-DO be available here in the greater Seattle area?! Obviously people enjoy wireless here … or is that the point? You want to offer service in areas where people are less likely to have WiFi options? In that case, Seattle is low on the priority list. I need to give Verizon a call and find out what the outlook is here. Any other readers in the Seattle area know anything about this here?
Did this post make you go hmm?
