Netflix perks |

As a new member of Netflix — I know, I’m a seriously late adopter to DVD-by-mail (read some of why here) — we are horror movie flick hounds and the new Seed of Chucky movie is due out tomorrow on DVD. It happened to be in our queue and on Saturday we sent back Ladder 49. Check out the picture above and see that Netflix shipped it today so we would have it tomorrow on launch day. No need to go to the store, it will be waiting in the mailbox the day it comes out. Nice perk!
We’re going to cancel Starz with the OnDemand this week on cable. HBO seems to have better regular series like the new reality one with Lisa Kudrow. We’ll be getting HBO with OnDemand instead. Would like to have them all, but well, paying $125/month for cable is too much considering we don’t watch TV that much.

Wow, I couldn’t imagine getting a cable bill for $125.00!! I don’t watch that much television either so I only have the basic service. My basic cable service plus the cable internet costs $50.00/month. If I were to add all of the optional channels, it would be $90.00 for both the cable & internet. But it would be a waste of money because most times the only thing playing on my TV is cable news.
I do watch my fair share of horror flicks but usually only see a small part of the screen because most times I’m covering up my eyes
Oh, and then there’s always having to leave the light on at night for at least a week because I’m obviously such a weenie when it comes to horror flicks
I haven’t signed up for Netflix although I seem to go back & forth on whether or not I’ll join. I realize the benefits to joining Netflix but if I give it too much thought (which is something I need to stop doing so much). I start to feel like I must be ultra lazy if I can’t go out to the flippin’ video store. And, my life is not that crazy that I just can’t hop into my car and drive a block down the street. Now, be honest…is Seed Of Chuckie really a must-gotta-see-day-of-release film? I suppose if you are a horror flick hound, then possibly it is.

I’ve been a member of netflix ever since they started. Before their monthly membership deal when I had to prepay to rent dvds. The one thing I love is the fact I can keep the movies as long as I want. Don’t have to worry about late fees. The second thing I like is the big selection. I am a big fan of horror movies and love watching the B movies. Netflix has a great selection from the straight to dvd movies. A nice international selection as well that I might not be able to find in a local rental store. Sometimes I get in different moods where I can keep the dvds for weeks and other times I try to turn them over as fast as possible. Their shipping is very impressive. Usually I get the dvd on the day before they estimate. Having the new releases available so soon is very nice but not something I need. The biggest reason I won’t be canceling my account any time soon is because I got a special rate and don’t want to lose it. The reason I got that rate is because I joined up very early in their creation.

You know I had to laugh over this when I saw your reply. I have a DVD sitting on my television that was due back yesterday. Looks like my next stop will be Netfilx. Oh wait…that’s after I go pay my late fee for this DVD sitting here
