Video for Skype has arrived |

Unofficially, video for skype now works, provided via a third party, Dialcom, with end to end encryption. Andrew Ferguson just shared this with me: Video4Skype. We tried it out and it seems to work pretty sweet. I should have taken some screen shots of the picture in picture, but the picture above shows the test screen and I put in red where you see the picture in picture section. Warning, as of this writing it is being slashdotted, so expect it to be difficult to download. Eric Rice asked me if there was a Mac version and it only is for Windows 2000 or XP, 400 MHz CPU, 128MB RAM at this time.
I moved the M1400 Tablet over closer to the webcam, turned off the light to reduce the glare and Andrew could read me writing in OneNote. A OneNote shared session would be better, of course, but this is a pretty cool collaboration tool with Skype for those who don’t have OneNote and want a live demonstration of something.
I just checked and over at Skype Journal Bill Campbell and Nicolas from France have a picture of them testing this.
Did this post make you go hmm?

would like to test it
