Lots of comments on Star Wars Podcasting piece |
Getting lots of comments (and traffic, Thanks Dave!) on the Podcasting Star Wars piece which Dave Winer linked to yesterday.
I have a dozen or so similar type articles on different events with different participants on the web that haven’t yet been published, and maybe never will be. As noted at the end of that piece, the reason I create these kinds of pieces — which really start out as me keeping notes — is so I can keep the chronology of events correct where necessary. This way if I write an article or make a radio show appearance, I’m speaking with some level of intelligence and accuracy, instead of ignorance. Not that I, like most real reporters (which I’m not), do not make mistakes, because certainly I do.
One of the problems with information spread across a wide number of websites is that if any of those websites go offline or the links are moved then the story begins to become fragmented and broken. So by putting together a historical reference and using great tools like the WayBackMachine the true history of events can be recalled.
I believe this Curry/Winer rift, which I am dramatizing as a podcasting “Star Wars” (and no, it’s not a ‘war’, though, it’s not that serious, I’m being a bit facetious there), will have a happy ending. Hey, I’m a Libra, and believe in balance in life.
Last Thursday on launch day of Star Wars III Rob and Dana invited me over to WebTalk Radio for the third time (coincidence that it’s another launch day? I first appeared on the PSP launch day, then the second time when Tiger was released). We talked about this Star Wars podcasting topic a little more on their show for those interested. Keep in mind that this was recorded a week ago and before most of the new comments have come in.
