Kevin Rose announced on the TWIT #6 podcast and on his blog:

I’m leaving G4 so that I can focus on what I love most, in-depth tech content. Starting with today’s premiere release of our new tech HOW-TO show ’Systm,’ we will begin to build a network of technology television programming from the ground up…

Rose says he has been in negotiation with G4 for the last month or so and has been a bit unhappy about his current situation and would like to expand and go into more depth like he did on the old Tech TV shows. By doing his own gig along with the small production team he has assembled for Systm, he feels they can produce this type of content themselves and go directly to the web for distribution. Rose says Systm will be distributed free under a Creative Commons license. Tonight they are having an IRC with live web cam Systm launch party tonight at 8:00PM PST.

BTW, if you want to listen to the TWIT podcast and Rose’s announcement and interview with Leo Laporte (prerecorded) then get it via BitTorrent, because their website is getting pounded as of this writing. If you wait a day or two you should be able to get it from the TWIT site.
