On the web it’s pretty much impossible to keep a secret when it comes to new technology. I’ve been seeing alleged photos of Xbox 360 in various places online and today I saw the first ‘confirmation’ that Xbox 360 will be released this year. The source seems pretty reliable too (an MTV guide teaser), but keep in mind that there is no official word from Microsoft on this yet. Certainly a pre-Christmas launch for the Xbox 360 would make loads of sense. Especially in light of the criticized launch delays. gamesradar.com is reporting that MTV is starting to leak some information out that suggests the next generation XBox 360 will be released in November 2005:

The online synopsis for the show, which is scheduled to air on Thursday in the US and Friday in the UK, describes how the programme will feature “trailers of the newest games that are due out in November for the new Xbox”.

This Thursday May 12, set your PVRs, to catch the pre-party event from MTV. Thursday is going to be an exciting day all the way around with Star Wars III coming out as well. It’s a good week to be a geek!
