Using the Yahoo Media RSS Module for video exposure |
RSS already has support for single enclosures, but Yahoo with their new Media RSS extension is courting automatic inclusion via RSS for videos. If you produce and publish videos and want to get listed automatically in the new Yahoo speciality video search engine, then the Media RSS Module - RSS 2.0 Module is the ticket:
“Media RSS” is a new RSS module that supplements the enclosure capabilities of RSS 2.0. RSS enclosures are already being used to syndicate audio files and images. Media RSS extends enclosures to handle other media types, such as short films or TV, as well as provide additional metadata with the media. Media RSS enables content publishers and bloggers to syndicate multimedia content such as TV and video clips, movies, images, and audio.
I have a couple test videos, like the foolish drummer boy, that I’d like to setup in a test RSS Media feed powered feed and then submit the feed to Yahoo. They say to expect a delay and I’m curious how long the delay will be? Any MakeYouGoHmm readers who have checked the delay once their feed has been submitted?
