Here - 4/29/05 - there be Tiger |
The next version of OS X (10.4) for Mac, Tiger, will be available on 4/29. Besides, timeshift recording over the air radio with radioSHARK, I haven’t been doing very much on the Mac lately. I still have a 35% finished novel that I’d like to be able to complete during this November in the National Novel Writing Month. I only made it about halfway to the goal last year.
So what’s new in Tiger? Will it be worth the $129 USD? Here’s just a small sample of features:
- search anywhere with Spotlight menu and enhanced desktop search
- smart folders and mailboxes that update automatically when new files arrive (via RSS?)
- a bunch of handy widgets at your fingertips using Dashboard
- Automater sounds like cron on ‘roids, taking care of repetitive tasks
