CNET buys HeyPix photos-sharing site |
Never heard of the program HeyPix or the company who made it: Windup? Me neither. Apparently CNET has, though, because they just bought them for an undisclosed sum:
HeyPix, launched just four months ago, is a photo sharing and editing site on which users can choose to automotically download photos from specific people, comment on friends’ uploaded pictures and publish photos to Web journals, or blogs. “You can essentially subscribe to channels of content from your friends, from your social network”
I decided to go check them out really quick, but then I saw this: “But as of today, we are stopping new registrations on HeyPix!” — guess those of us who haven’t tried them out already will have to wait until they are integrated with CNET Webshots service. From the limited information available on the website HeyPix doesn’t look like anything special, but having not actually checked it out, this is way too premature an opinion. Any readers actually used/tried HeyPix out? How does it compare to Flickr, Picasa, etc?
Did this post make you go hmm?
