Never once have I had a problem with security. If you’re extra cautious, log into your AdSense account using bookmarks instead of the built-in link. But most of all, just let the program sit quietly in your system tray, do its job and give you a periodic report. Most family dogs aren’t as well-behaved!

As I said above, I bought this app, and I’m still using this app. I’ve used Fiddler to analyze the traffic and I’ve seen nothing that raises my concerns. So until you or somebody else shows me evidence proving otherwise, the answer to your question is: yes, I’d trust this particular application and author. I don’t think it’s authors, plural, it’s an independent developer.

After writing the piece above a friend pointed out the free Firefox extension for Google Adsense, but that isn’t as full-featured as this one (no graphs, no logging, etc). Also, if you check the history of that free extension the author wasn’t even using encryption to begin with (they are now), which means user Adsense account information was passing in plain text!

Yowsa, that worries me a lot more than than Revenue Checker For Adsense which uses Triple DES.

If there are bugs for the application, then visit the author’s forum and work with him. I haven’t had problems with it, though.

There are better programs and free scripts available for monitoring AdSense.
