Refrigerator + LCD TV = dumb, expensive combo |

Hey, I’m one of the geekiest people around, but last night while shopping at Best Buy I saw this $3,100+ refrigerator with built-in LCD TV in the door: LG - 25.2 Cu. Ft. Side-by-Side Refrigerator with Built-In LCD TV - Titanium color - LRSC26980T:
Gather your family around the kitchen table with a built-in LCD TV in a top-of-the-line refrigerator. Now you can peel the carrots without having to peel the kids away from the TV or sacrifice vital family time.
First of all, why would anybody want to buy a fridge like this when you could get your own bigger LCD monitor and hang it on the wall next to the fridge or suspend from the corner of the kitchen. $1000 buys a pretty nice refrigerator and $2000 buys a pretty nice LCD monitor.
I’ll concede that there is a space savings made by having the TV inside the fridge but the way at least our fridge is situated, it wouldn’t be viewable by anybody. The sink is opposite the fridge so if one was doing dishes h/she would have to turn around to watch.
This product must be geared toward people who have money to burn.
Did this post make you go hmm?
