Dance, dance away obesity with video game |
At CES 2005 in Vegas I demoed the Xavix Jackie Chan boxing game and wrote about it in January. At the end of that review, I mentioned the game Dance Dance Revolution and how it had gained traction with our children. I played the game a few times and you can definitely work up a sweat trying to perfect the dance moves; it could be a fun workout.
Jones is one of 85 children being recruited by the West Virginia Public Employees Insurance Agency to participate in an at-home study using the video game Dance Dance Revolution to increase activity. He lost about 10 pounds by changing his diet. Now after two weeks playing the game, he’s lost another 10.
Nintendo likes to come up with wacky controllers, exercise-friendly controllers too like the Donkey Konga bongos. Playing games and getting in shape, what a combination!
Did this post make you go hmm?
