XM to be standard in Hyundai by 2007 |
Would having XM Satellite radio in your new vehicle as a standard option sway your purchase? OnStar swayed ours, because it’s something that you can’t add, but you can run out to Best Buy and get Satellite radio for couple hundred bucks professionally installed. Still, Hyundai is banking on this being a good selling point and plans to fit all models with XM Satellite by 2007
:
“We’re the first car company” to make it available on all models, said Hyundai of America CEO Bob Cosmai, who added that he believes it will attract “youthful” buyers and “become a step toward strengthening our brand image.”
One of these days maybe I’ll write about our Hyundai purchase. The first brand new car we purchased was a Hyundai Elantra and for 75,000 miles it was great. After that … well, it was a nightmare that ended a couple years ago when we were finally able to give the car away (not even the charities would take it, BTW). This has been over 10 years ago, but the experience was so bad that it would take a lot more than XM Satellite radio as standard to buy another Hyundai. And yet, I do wonder how many will be swayed by this standard feature?
Whatever the case, this is good news for XM though.
Did this post make you go hmm?
