DualDisc CD format starting to appear in stores |
DualDisc has arrived! Last night I was at the store and debating over to get the Limited Edition or DualDisc of Judas Priest’s reunion album release: Angel of Retribution (AoR).
Announced in Summer, 2003, DualDisc is yet another a/v format, and delivers CD audio on one side, and a DVD on the other. Beginning in February, 2005, many titles, some old, some new, will be available on DualDisc for the first time, with bonus material on the DVD-side.
I probably should have read up on Triniman’s excellent DualDisc review (with list of titles available on DualDisc) at Blogcritics, first to get the inside on the difference between the AoR Limited Edition and the DualDisc besides the obvious fact that the Limited Edition had a separate DVD disc and was a few bucks more expensive. Turns out there is 10 minutes of extra DVD content in the Limited Edition, but the package was devoid of these details. Sure, it had the price difference, but the clerks were understandably clueless about the difference between the two version besides the obvious extra DVD disc. I’ll post a review separately after I’ve had time to listen to and fully experience the music (that will take a few days, at least).
Did this post make you go hmm?
