Gorns were cool, but cheesy |

One of my — if not the — favorite ultra cheesy Star Trek Original Series villains was the Gorn from The Arena. Who are the Gorns?
The GORNS are a reptilian race from planets with grater gravity than Earth and with a harsher climate, which perhaps accounts for their greater endurance. Though battle is not the overwhelming preoccupation with them that is for Klingons and Romulans, the Gorn prize physical strength and endurance over intellect.
Pop that DVD in and watch the Gorn and Kirk battling. At one point with the rocky backdrop, it’s like the Gorn’s fierce jaws never actually move and it’s hilarious watching the rather obvious mask move around! It’s hard to argue against the Borg as the coolest villain in all of Star Trek history. I’m not a huge trekkie, but I enjoyed the first two series and a couple of the movies.
