Viagra will be covered, not stiffed, by Medicare next year |
Loading ...Just heard this on the local KIRO710 radio station and Googled it when I got home that a new Medicare plan next year will cover Viagra, WTF?!
A new prescription drug coverage law that takes effect next year means the government health insurance plan for the elderly must offer to help pay for medically necessary drugs, the officials said. That would include sildenafil, sold by Pfizer under the brand name Viagra, and other erectile dysfunction drugs.
I wonder what’s next? Medicare to cover cable TV? How about Medicare covering golf? Just think of all the parallels between golf and sex? I bet the adult industry and those who pitching viagra are absolutely on par with this decision.
IMHO I think this is going a bit far. The government seems to be getting a bit overinflated as is. They are raising taxes, applying strict rules and laws about what we can or can’t do, and now are dishing out viagra on my dime!? How come WE can’t decide where our HARD EARNED money is going?
How about taking this extra money that they are pouring into this and apply it to some good in the world? Why wait for a giant tsunami to hit before we help someone else out? Why dont we take this viagra allocated funds in the medicare ‘project’ and pitch in to help out someone, be it our own poor, or a foreign needy country? Hell, how about the give to ^Lestat fund?!

funny thing about medicare, anxiety drugs such as lorazepam or alprazolam aren’t to be covered as of yet so if you have anxiety induced erectile dysfunction “You’re out of luck”

I have a 43 yr old male friend, disabled due to a spinal cord injury who wants to have a life, that includes a sex life. Due to his disability and diabetes, Viagra is one of the few hopes he has of ever having his American dream, a wife, children and the house with the white picket fence. Considering I have a sister-in-law whom the system has bent over backward to fund despite selling her daughter into prostitution for drug money and earning her keep doing live internet porn, I would MUCH rather have my tax dollars go to this man than the thousands that have been sunk into her.
