Technorati no longer rotten

default — by TDavid @ 11:01 am PST

Redemption is real and just because something like, oh, say Technorati sucked in the past, doesn’t mean it can’t improve to be good at some point in the future. Well, the future has arrived, because I’ve been running a series of tests since Technorati’s most recent server upgrade and the search results are being returned much faster. No need for having long blasphemous conversations with the “Searching the World Wide Web” graphic. Thank you, Dave Sifry, and Technorati for making your tool usable again. BTW, I found Dave’s comments on this very blog on Sept 26, 2004 particularly friendly and inviting:

“I hope that we can improve the service to the point that you’re interested in giving us another try.” - Dave Sifry

They certainly don’t need the endorsement of this blog because so many folks praise them, but if this blog is going to bag on something, it’s only fair that when that something we’ve bagged on has improved to update and tell our readers. So if you, too, thought Technorati was rotten, then try them out again, you might just be pleasantly surprised how the apple is much more ripe again. I’m adding back my Technorati profile link to this page.

Did this post make you go hmm?

  1. Thanks for the kind words. I found this post via my Technorati watchlist, btw. :-)

Please keep us on our toes. We’re 100% focused on being of service to you, and I’m glad that the hard work we’ve been doing over the past few months has helped win you back. Dave
