Bad Commercial

television — by Forser @ 1:12 pm PST

It is for a broadband company called Glocalnet.

It starts with a bunch of older ladies and a man as a gymteacher doing exercising.
After a while the man says, okey that is all. Go and take a very good shower now.

Then the camera fastforwards (you don’t see that) and you see the same man again but this time he is peeping into the showerroom of the ladies.
He gets caught by another old lady that enters the gym from the enterence and says “Shame on you, that is low!” and the man replies
“Shhhyyy, this isn’t low. This is low” and shows a sign for a cheap broadband connection.

And the commercial is over.
I feel that this commercial doesn’t have anything to do with a cheap broadband connection at all and is just totally wrong.

People are blaming the games for the sexist and weird stuff when it comes to kids, but this commercial does like approve people peeping into a ladies shower room!

I really hope it will get banned from TV becuase it doesn’t have anything at all to do there.

  1. Unfortunately I would expect to see a rise (no pun intended) in the number of such adds being produced by broadband providers.

The Reigister (allways a source of ammusement) quoted this today: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2004/12/08/brit_net_filth/

“According to a survey conducted by British ISP Homecall, 23 per cent of Britons are getting broadband for the porn, and it’s by far the most important factor in getting wired.”

So, with those kind of figures, it makes sense that broadband providers would target thier advertisments towards the seedier side of life that 23% of the British broadband using populace gravitate towards.

I agree with you that such advertisments are not suitable for children, but then again, isn’t there a water-shed?
