eBay has added a new search enhancement want ad feature they’re calling “want it now” so shoppers can request exactly what they are looking for.

“Want it Now” appears on the main eBay page under the heading “Specialty Sites.” Shoppers can post their requests for specific items. Sellers can browse those postings and contact potential buyers with information about items that may match their requirements. Sales follow eBay’s normal procedures.

Shoppers might also find useful the eBay gift wizard which is a Flash program for selecting gifts by pictures (for men, women, boys, girls and then various subcats). It is sure looking more and more like eBay is going to buy the rest of Craigslist.org which they acquired 25% earlier in 2004.
