Vibrate people, vibrate! Hang up on ringback tones |
Not this one. Not me. One fad I haven’t jumped on with any degree of interest is the desire to pay to customize cell phone ring tones. Yeah, I customized mine (for free) primarily so that I could hear it better (also put the vibrate on maximum), but there was no way I was dropping a few bones just to get some special, chic ringtone — especially for a limited time. My wallet got completely hung up on the concept of renting ringtones. And now cell phone companies are hoping for a new ring-related attraction: ringback tones? Well, they definitely aren’t targeting customers like me.
Instead of the usual dialing noise which people hear when phoning someone, callers to Verizon Wireless subscribers may soon find themselves listening to a song until the phone is answered.
Please … just don’t. This is so annoying when you are out in public and somebody won’t stop talking so loudly on their cell phone and now, joy, we get to contend with custom ringback tones that won’t shut up either? I hope this comes and goes quickly, it’s noisy enough out there. Vibrate, people, vibrate.
