Cell Phone explosions |
We’ve gone almost two months now without a cell phone. Withdrawl symptoms are surprisingly minimal. Stories like the following make withdrawl even less an issue:
Curtis Sathre said it was like a bomb going off. His 13-year-old son Michael stood stunned, ears ringing, hand gushing blood after his cell phone exploded. Safety officials have received 83 reports of cell phones exploding or catching fire in the past two years, usually because of bad batteries or chargers.
Of course we won’t be cell phone free forever, but we’re still looking to buy a cell phone with good Pocket PC integration. Something like the iPaq 6315 but with a powerful enough processor to run Pocket Skype. Any ideas? Anybody?
Update: Audiovox PPC4100 ($449) - no wi-fi (bad), it’s GSM, bluetooth (?), but it has 400mhz processor (good) and appears to be from ATNT (bad) who I vowed not to do business with ever again. Then again Cingular bought them out, didn’t they? Hmm.
Microsoft’s Pocket PC Phone page - has lots of information potential hybrid phones
Did this post make you go hmm?
