Unofficial bloggers breath mint: Myntz |
I totally, unofficially, unequivically declare Myntz the unofficial blogger’s breath mint. Find them at your favorite grocery store checkout counter. They are powerful, sugarless and low in carbs and dentist recommended. You bet they have a website, myntz.com, and I’ll even forgive them for making it so darned Flashy. And no, I wasn’t compensated to say any of this. What’s worse than bad blogger breath? Protect your monitors while you still can!

Thanks for the endorse-mint. I’m the president / C.E.O. of Myntz! Brands and really appreciate your kind words about our product. We think they’re pretty special. Have you tried our new Green Tea and Ginseng mints yet? Darn good! And if you can’t find them in your local store and after throwing yourself on the ground and holding your breath doesn’t get the manager to bring them in, then you can get them at www.drugstore.com or on our site store at www.myntz.com. Keep blogging and keep Myntzing.

Vanillamyntz are awesome! I can’t wait to try the green tea flavor! I’m looking around for stores nearby where I can purchase them, otherwise I will have to get them online. These are THE BEST MINTS EVER! And they keep well - I made my last supply dwindle down over a year or more (I know, I couldn’t find them though) and they never went bad, never seemed to lose any flavor!

Do you realize how many companies with a great concept and super product have gone out of business? Quite a few! It’s true, MYNTZ are great, but their marketing and distribution is the pits. Their CEO needs to go back to Marketing 101 and rethink his business plan. I live in Upstate NY and it is almost impossible to find these mints anywhere. The store finder on the MYNTZ website indicates that the product is available at Target;Hannaford; Bed, Bath and Beyond and KB Toys. I wasted my time going to every one of these stores in our area and it was news to the store managers that they carried it. In fact, they DO NOT. BAD INFO ON THE MYNTZ website. I used to buy MYNTZ at a Big Y Supermarket in Chicopee, MA and would buy a years supply so that I wouldn’t have to go through this aggravation every time I needed to restock. However, they told me they discontinued the product. MR. MYNTZ CEO, you should take a hard look at your marketing and sales department. Time for a major shake up or your company will be shook up and out of business. The key to success is not to see how hard you can make it for the customer to buy your product. I know I can buy MYNTZ on the web, but I don’t use the web to purchase things. Call me paranoid, but I have little faith in the security of information. Way too many horror stories about hackers, stolen personal information, identity theft, etc. Besides, unless “Mr. MYNTZ” is Amazon.com he will not be able to keep his business alive depending on just the internet to move his product. YOU NEED TO BE ON THE STORE SHELVES!!
Maybe I’ll just find anther product and stop wasting my time on “The Great MYNTZ Hunt”.

Pat, I hear you. We’ve had a very tough time this past couple of years. Our competition, which consists of huge multinationals, has placed us in their sights to eliminate us from retailer’s shelves. They actually go in and offer the big retailers money to take our products off the shelves and place theirs in their place. Since we are a very small company, we can’t compete with those tactics. It’s not that they have a better product, or they offer theirs for a better price, they just can eliminate competition by throwing money at the retailers. We’re doing everything we can to stay alive and keep Myntz! available. As to the web site, I am totally frustrated with that. The guy that designed it and implemented it has disappeared and we can’t track him down. We don’t know how to get on the site and change anything, like the available store section. We were in all of those stores at one time, but we have lost distribution because of what I said above. Our site store sales have gone way up as Myntz! became harder to find in retail stores. But we have to figure out a way to get into the site and make adjustments, or scrap the site and start over. We are trying very hard to gain back favor with retailers, so I hope you don’t totally give up on us. It would be a shame if your choice of a mint comes down to just a couple of huge companies that don’t play fair in the marketplace.

[…] On October 22, 2004, I unofficially declared Myntz as the breath mint of choice for bloggers. Of course that designation is merely from one of their fans, but I really dug these mints and the fact that dentist’s like them. It seems they are having trouble getting retailers to stock them. […]

I found these things while on a buisness trip to California - cool in more than one sense and free from Aspartame (that I am hyper-sensitive to). Shame I couldn’t bring more than half a dozen packs back with me to the UK in my luggage.
I see Myntz are coming to Europe - although according to the website, NOT the UK, dammit !! Why’s that ? Come on Myntz, lets have a UK distributor (or sell to the UK via your website, I’m prepared to order a crate !).

Mr. Parker,
I am possibly your oldest customer. I started buying Myntz at a grocery store on Mamaroneck Ave in White Plains NY.. They sold well, but the owner became frustrated that he could not get them, and finally stopped trying. Next I bought them at Target, who could not stock them, and stopped trying. Over the last few years I have bought them sporadically at Trader Joes, they no longer have them, and say they cannot get them. What is going on with your distribution division? You are losing tons of money. Call me crazy, when I need something, I drop by a local store, I do not sit down at the computer. Fire somebody or hire somebody and GET ME MY FREAKING MYNTZ!!

Hi there- I have been addicted ( in a good way) to Myntz for at least 2 years. My body cannot handle aspartame and it seems that junk is in nearly everything. I can only find Myntz at Trader Joes and they do not carry any other flavor other than wintermynt. I love them but am getting bored. I’d love to see some new flavors. A cinnamon would be delightful or maybe a spearmint. I know about the vanilla and green tea available online. I’m still debated whether to spend the money —cost plus shipping charges to try the vanilla. I can’t even think of trying a green tea mint. The sound of it– YUCK!

Me again…. well the one and only store that carried my favorite Myntz (Trader Joes) is not stocking them any longer. They used to be in every check out isle…then it dwindled to one isle and low and behold today when going there to stock up on my case of myntz they were all out and no idea when or if they are getting more. Looks like I might be searching for another mint. It’s crazy how hard these things are to get. Has anyone found an alternative ??? Please share it with us.
thanks

In my area, I used to find Myntz at 7-11, Eckerd’s, & Target. I like the Green Tea flavor & would buy these over Altoids. It’s a shame I can’t find them anymore.
