EBay explores music download scene via PassAlong |
eBay doesn’t want to let the music download business pass by.
Today, the Internet auction powerhouse [eBay] will announce a deal with a startup, PassAlong Networks, whereby PassAlong will sell digital downloads via its own Web site and through an online storefront on eBay. PassAlong, which claims to be the first major download service to allow its customers to use eBay’s PayPal payment service, will be offering a download catalog of about 200,000 songs initially. But PassAlong says that number will grow to 500,000 by the end of the month. That catalog will include the complete catalogs of Warner Music Group, BMG and Universal Music Group.
The field is starting to get crowded, no doubt, but it is nice to see that netizens will soon have yet another legal music download option. So the real question is: who isn’t in the game yet? Forget the buzz about Gbrowser, Gmusic anybody?
Did this post make you go hmm?
