Burger King and AOL offer a whopper of an online music deal |
Ok, well, maybe it’s not a “whopper” of a deal, but Burger King and AOL probably think so. Obviously, they want to compete against the recent iTunes/McDonald’s deal which seems to have gone over at least OK enough to jump aboard and emulate.
From now through Oct. 3, Burger King restaurants across the country will give away one free music download with every purchase of an Original Whopper sandwich.
I’m still waiting for free songs when I get my oil changed and visit the local theater.
One beef I have with buying music online is the actual organization of the licenses across multiple computers. If you only have one computer then this is easy, a no brainer, but if you have many computers, it can become a bit unwieldy dealing with buying music and moving licenses around on your other computers. Yeah, some sort of LAN system where you use one computer as a music server for the LAN seems to be the best plan.
I think in this case it’s still best to use these online services as a paid preview service. If you like the music then go out and buy the CD and burn it and do whatever you want with it. I’d be curious to hear how others who have multiple computers are dealing with this when they buy (or get free through deals like this) music licenses on multiple computers.
Did this post make you go hmm?
