Penny for your thoughts: fired from job because of blog |
It seems that Penny was fired for her blog. nunatsiaq news:
A Nunavut Tourism marketing officer was fired last month after a local resident complained about a web site she ran in her spare time. Penny Cholmondeley, known on the Internet as “Polar Penny,” was surprised to learn on July 18 that she was being fired because of the online journal, or web log, she had kept since her arrival in Iqaluit in January.
I read through this story and fail to see the logic behind this firing. Admittedly, I don’t know Penny’s blog at all, but it seems odd that any website which positively promotes the area would do anything but help the tourism business. Now, if Penny was bashing the locals in her blog, that could be a different story. Wonder if there is more to this story than meets the eye.
Did this post make you go hmm?

Perhaps John Ashcroft has moved north. You know, a new version of the Patriot Act.
