Montenegro says no more smoking in public |
Being a former smoker myself (been almost 20 years now since I last smoked, though), I must admit that I feel for smokers as they continue to get pushed further and further out of society. BBC:
The parliament in Montenegro, which has one of the highest rates of smoking in Europe, has passed a law banning smoking in public places.
Yes, it’s a bad habit, and it kills, but a smoker’s money is just as good as a non-smoker. The flipside is non-smoking areas — where usually non-smokers must walk through or around smoking areas to get to these designated areas — do not provide as clean air as buildings which are totally smoke free. I’ve yet to see a filtering system in real use that is totally effective at ridding itself of an adjoining smoking area.
