Sports memorabilia theft at Pete Rose eatery |
More bad news for Pete Rose. Palm Beach Post:
A cleaning crew discovered that the jerseys and an autographed lithograph of champion boxer Muhammad Ali were missing and alerted a security guard as they reported for work at about 3 a.m. The value of the stolen items is estimated at $10,200. Although no suspects were captured on surveillance video, investigators found fingerprints, footprints and a shattered pane of glass at the northside door of the restaurant. The thieves apparently ignored Rose’s baseball uniforms, a row of encased NBA basketball jerseys and a wall dedicated to the Boynton Beach 2003 Little League champions.
Ouch. They “ignored” Pete Rose’s baseball uniform? I wonder which bothered Rose more? The other items gone or the fact that they didn’t think they’d get any value out of his memorabilia.
Did this post make you go hmm?
