Effective January 1, Clear Channel reduces commercial time |
In what might be the first visible sign that internet radio and satellite radio are affecting traditional commercial radio Clear Channel, which owns many major radio stations, plans to reduce the time that commercials are playing starting January 1, 2005. The Business Review (Albany):
“Clutter is a major issue in our industry and our decision to limit the amount of commercial time and length of breaks, while reducing promotional interruptions, will benefit listeners, advertisers and the industry as a whole,” said John Hogan, CEO of the Clear Channel Radio division.
