Senator Orrin Hatch is proposing a new bill that will go after P2P companies and other technology that can be used in for unlawful purposes. What about a hammer? That could be used for ”unlawful purposes?”

A forthcoming bill in the U.S. Senate would, if passed, dramatically reshape copyright law by prohibiting file-trading networks and some consumer electronics devices on the grounds that they could be used for unlawful purposes.

I seriously doubt this bill will gain any traction, but we’ll see.
