Google Adsense adds image option |
Option. Yes, it’s an option now for Google adsense users can choose whether or not to show image and text ads or just text ads.
Now you can use the power of images to drive clickthrough from your web visitors. Image ads allow AdWords advertisers to place graphical ads - in addition to text ads - and uses existing AdWords technology to target images based on keywords and phrases. Google uses AdSense contextual advertising technology to match the image ads to the content of your web pages.
I like the flexibility and it’s well worth noting that Google themselves isn’t going to run image ads.
I think I’m going to go with them on this (at least on the one target site where we are using them) and stay with the text ads at least for the time being, but it’s really cool that they made this optional and didn’t just ram this down every Adsense affiliate’s throat.
