Two new Google features (beta): Personalized Search and Web Alert |
Quiet for a little over a month, the Google labs kicks off Monday with two new features.
Google Personalized Search - this allows users to receive personalized search results based on a custom profile of interests. Update: I noticed that the customization page didn’t work quite right in Internet Explorer for me (the checkboxes weren’t showing up when I clicked the category links), so I switched to Firefox to test successfully. Personalized results only show up on the first page and a slider allows for adjusting the search results.
Web Alert - similar to Google News Alerts and also the third party service googlealert, providing notification of new web pages in a field of interest.
