Recently we added cable internet through Comcast to our home and the download speed was 1.5mb for $49.99 month. They just doubled the bandwith in our area and didn’t increase the price! To check your download speed for free just visit PC Pit Stop

Check out our existing ADSL download speed (same price: $49.99/month):

Now compare this to the Comcast cable download speed:

Almost 10 times faster! Might be time to give cable another look if you are an ADSL subscriber.

  1. Ya, but did you check the upload rate? Cable is notoriously slow on upload. Other disadvantages are the rates vary at times, and the latency is almost twice that of dsl. However, you dsl shouldn’t be that slow (.4mb) for 1.5mb price. Who was your provider? They’re rip offs.
