Upgrade alert: Critical RealPlayer Holes Patched |

The Seattle-based RealNetworks Thursday confirmed the three exploits in an advisory and warned that the newest RealPlayer 10 was also vulnerable to one of the security bugs.
I went in and updated my version of RealPlayer and have a few suggestions:
1) watch out for the automatic browser toolbar default. Unless you want the Real Toolbar, of course.
2) watch for the file association menu. In my case, none were checked which was good. I seem to recall on the original installation this wasn’t the case and thus would have taken over my system.
3) the default is to put the Real Player in your system tray at startup. You may want to uncheck this unless you use the Real Player immediately at startup.
Did this post make you go hmm?
